Install A Bathroom Vanity Plumbing

Install A Bathroom Vanity With These 5 Simple Steps

Are you in the mood for a new bathroom vanity? Perhaps you're new to the idea of the popular and stylish sink-plus-storage solution - or you're updating your existing one as part of renovations or a timely update. No matter the reason, installing a vanity is a cost-friendly way to spruce up your home, add value and make your life a little more luxurious. The only question now is how to install a vanity, exactly!

How to install bathroom vanity plumbing

The good news is that vanity plumbing aside, learning how to install bathroom vanity fixtures is something you can absolutely do for yourself! It's a different story when it comes to how to install bathroom vanity plumbing, which is something you'll need a fully-licensed Gold Coast plumber for.

But the vanity itself? Go for it!:

1. Grab your tools

Get ready, because there's quite a list!:

  • Hammer drill
  • 80mm hole saw
  • Tape measure
  • Power drill
  • Screwdriver
  • Spirit level
  • Trimming knife
  • Screws
  • Wall plugs

2. Measure up

Using your tape measure, mark out exactly on the floor where the vanity that you've already purchased will go. If things are going to go smoothly, it'll line up with your existing plumbing pipes which you'll also mark at this point.

3. Cut the access holes

This will be a lot easier if you take off the back panel of your new vanity cabinet, which will allow you to simply transfer your plumbing pipe measurements to the new vanity's base panel.

Now, use your 80mm hole saw to cut the appropriate holes for the plumbing pipes. Once you're done, restore the back panel to its original location and position the vanity and its newly-cut holes over the plumbing.

4. Install a bathroom vanity

Is your new vanity sitting level? If so, use the hammer drill to insert two screw holes into the vanity's back rail. Now, it's just a matter of inserting the wall plugs and trimming them - and now driving the screws through the vanity and securely into the wall.

Is your vanity still level? If so, add all the additional parts of your vanity, which may include doors, benchtop, sink and drawers.
